Selichot Concert

During the opening weekend of David Stern: The American Years (1995-2008) Brith Sholom Beth Israel, the Charleston Jewish Federation, Kahal Kadosh Beth Elohim, Synagogue Emanu-El, and the Yaschik/Arnold Jewish Studies Program at the College of Charleston are joining together to present a Selichot Concert to welcome the High Holiday season. Held Saturday, September 4th at 9 pm at the Recital Hall, Simons Center for the Arts, tickets are $10.00 each and available by calling (843) 953-5682. The concert will feature such works as Nigun from the Baal Shem Suite by Ernest Bloch and the Sonata for Violin and Piano by Cèsar Franck. Immediately following the concert, there will be a gallery walk-through with David Stern at the Halsey Institute.

KKBE will hold its Selichot services prior to the concert at its sanctuary. Synagogue Emanu-El will hold its services at 11:15pm in Arnold Hall at the Jewish Studies Center. BSBI’s services will be held at midnight at the synagogue on Rutledge Avenue.
