Jennifer Wen Ma’s exhibition Cry Joy Park–Gardens of Dark and Light was composed of not only the gardens, but also a feast. The Invitation to the Feast is a platform for members of the community to come together and discuss a wide range of issues. These events included education, land justice, re-entry into society after incarceration, and food politics. Ma focused these dinner discussions for the Charleston area and even decorated the tables with traditional Charleston décor. After these conversations concluded, the hope was to improve Charleston for those of every background.
