Halsey Institute director and chief Curator Mark Sloan will interview artist Patricia Boinest Potter with Douglas Hofstadter.
ABOUT PATRICIA BOINEST POTTER
Patricia Boinest Potter was born in Charleston, SC and currently resides in Anniston, Alabama. She completed her Bachelors degree from the Atlanta College of Art (now SCAD Atlanta) and received a Master’s degree in architecture from the University of Art and Design, Helsinki, Finland. Potter has been a Visiting Professor of Architecture at Auburn University, Iowa State University, and Jacksonville State University. Her works have been included in numerous solo and group exhibitions around the wr orld, including Paris, France; Richmond, Virginia; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Newton, Massachusetts; and New Orleans, Louisiana, to name a few.
ABOUT DOUGLAS HOFSTADTER
Born in New York in 1945, Douglas Hofstadter is College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor of Cognitive Science and Comparative Literature at Indiana University, Bloomington. His best-known book, Gödel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid, won the 1980 Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction and the National Book Award for Science. His 2007 book I Am a Strange Loop won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Science. Hofstadter is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
