The pieces in this show represent a turning point in my work. Until I was introduced to Glass as a medium, most of my work tended to be figurative in nature and socially narrative by theme. The fluid and often unpredictable nature of glass has helped pull me away from social issues and figurative work. In my current work I try to not be as heavy handed with my thoughts and more loose in my forms. I tend to use metaphors in the titles of my work to help bring the viewer into my thought train. For me, my work in this exhibition represents a search, (for what I’m still not absolutely sure) and realizations that have come as a result of this search.
