SGRAFFITO WORKSHOP | Tom Stanley: Scratching the Surface
Saturday, May 20, 2pm | Charleston Farmer's Market, Marion Square

Stop by our table at the Charleston Farmer’s Market in Marion Square on Saturday, May 20 from 10am-12pm for a family-friendly Sgraffito Workshop with Tom Stanley. With his work featured at the Halsey Institute in Tom Stanley: Scratching the Surface, Stanley will be on hand to help demonstrate his sgraffito technique, in which an artist scratches off a top layer of paint to reveal layers underneath. We will be using kid-friendly scratchboards, so there is no need to bring your own supplies. Stanley will also be demonstrating the technique with paint.

Once you are well-versed in the age-old technique of sgraffito, stop by the Halsey Institute to check out how Stanley utilizes it in his own paintings.
